CampaigningWould you like to see Anthony appear on your favorite show? While we do not organize any campaigns, here are some tips on writing casting directors to suggest they audition Anthony for a part.Brief Overview:1) Write to the casting director of the show, not the producer or director. 2) Find the right address. This can be difficult, but there are a few sources on-line you can check, such as IMDB, the TV network website or the show’s website. 3) What to include in your letter: 4) Keep it short and sweet. The important fact is to let them know how much you enjoy their show and how much better Anthony can make a show- even by one appearance.
Expanded Tips:A) Who do I address my letter to?The Casting Director (Where do you find this information? A good place to start is the IMDB or a project's website.) B) What address do I use?Project's street address (Again, the IMDB or project's website.) C) Your letter should contain:1. Opener: Comment on show, and previous job of casting. 2. Request: Begin to explain motivation behind letter. Be polite and use an intelligent, business-like tone. Edit out any mention of Anthony's eyes, chin cleft, etc. If you aren't familiar with a show with an ongoing campaign- start watching. Find out what the show is about and who the main characters are. The more you know, the better you can communicate to the casting director why you think Anthony is a perfect fit. Suggest some ideas about who you might like to see Anthony play. 3. Reason: Explain why Anthony would make a good casting choice. Be sure to give some solid, logical support to your appeal to audition (and ultimately cast) Anthony Cistaro. Is there something on Anthony's dossier that you could bring up? Television/movie/stage role that you could reference? His education? 4. Agent address: Make it easy for them to find Anthony. If you like, include the URL, www.anthonycistaro.com, so they can easily get more information about Anthony. 5. Disclaimer: Always include the disclaimer stating that
your
request is in no way affiliated with Anthony, his representatives, etc. 6. Thanks: Remember, they don't have to read your letter. Thank them for their time. 7. Demographic: Give your name and location, also age and occupation, if you feel comfortable doing so. Sample LetterDear [casting director}, Over the past year {show name] has become a show that I look forward to watching each week on [network name}. The unique and exciting casting on the show has definitely been one of the key reasons for my enjoyment of the series. In particular, [actor name] as the character of [character name]. I wanted to take a moment and bring to your attention one of my favorite actors, Mr. Anthony Cistaro. Anthony portrayed the role of Kenneth Irons on Witchblade, and he did an excellent job showing the many facets and motivations of Irons' very ambiguous character. I, and the rest of Witchblade's 26+ million fans, will watch Anthony, wherever he appears. Witchblade, of course, is not Anthony's only on-screen credit. He also made guest appearances on shows like Cheers, where he played Frenchman Henrí, and Seinfeld, where he played Elaine's boyfriend, Joel Rifkin. Anthony has also done stage work, and has a fabulous talent for various accents. I am writing to ask that you consider contacting Anthony's representatives and having him in to read for a part on {show name]. Any part. I am certain that he would only need a single audition to convince you of his considerable abilities. Anthony is represented by The Artists Agency, and they can be reached by mail at 1180 South Beverly Drive #400, Los Angeles,CA , 90035, USA or by phone at (310) 277-7779. I am not connected in any way to actor Anthony Cistaro or his representatives. This mailing is an entirely unaffiliated fan-run and fan-conceived campaign, totally independent of any of the above-referenced parties. Thank you very much for your time. Name
